I always have a great time when I’m in Louisiana, especially in New Orleans. My dear friend Kiley was born and raised in New Orleans, and she always has a great recommendation for good food when I’m in town. We met in undergrad at Southern University in Baton Rouge. We have remained dear friends since then.
Kiley and her husband met Matt and me at the restaurant, and we had a great time catching up.
The Executive Chef is Jose Castaneda, and the restaurant is in the New Orleans Warehouse District. The menu features Cajun and Creole dishes.
This restaurant, like many others, supports and displays beautiful art by local artists. New Orleans is a city known for its art and music, and the art of Tony and Tracey Mose, which is featured in the restaurant, is absolutely beautiful. Tracey also has a collection that is featured in SAKS FIFTH AVENUE. I purchased some of my favorite pieces of art for my home from New Orleans artists.
Check out Esom Art here for more beautiful pieces.

The decor was beautiful, and the feel of the restaurant was inviting.
I was impressed by their menu. It was not overwhelming like some menus. The chef chose a few specialty dishes to prepare for his guests, and they listed many of my favorite dishes. I love that.
We started with oysters. You can’t go wrong with oysters in New Orleans. These were seasoned well, and I enjoyed every bite.
Our waiter also brought out bread with tomatoes and cheese toppings. It was equally delicious. No simple butter rolls are served here!
I chose the Gulf Fish Capri, which was very flavorful and topped with crawfish and crabmeat.
This was a great choice! Kiley’s husband recommended the turtle soup, but it was not being served on the evening we dined there. I was so disappointed, but this dish quickly lightened my spirits.
Matt ordered the grilled lamb chops. The meat fell right off the bone.
We ended with bananas foster bread pudding and chocolate pecan pie, both topped with ice-cream.
This was a great way to end the evening — with good friends and good food!
