Today, I met a friend for an impromptu lunch at Domaine South in Huntsville. I had never been to the restaurant before, but I love the location and the aesthetics of the restaurant. She recommended this restaurant, and it was a fabulous recommendation.
It was a beautiful day, but it was extremely hot, so we made our way indoors to be seated.
I love the decor, especially these gold chairs and the booth with colorful pillows against the wall. I also love the beautiful photos of the women that adorn the walls.
Domaine South has a great menu that isn’t overwhelming. They offer shrimp and grits, which is one of my favorite dishes. They also have trout, which I will probably try when I go back to visit if it is available. Please note that their menus are updated frequently, so if you see something you like during your initial visit, it might not be there when you return. Check out their website and menu here.
I ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi, and let me tell you this was the best Mahi I have EVER eaten! It might not appear to be all that, but looks can be deceiving. The bold shrimp soup added happiness to my afternoon. This was a great pairing, and I highly recommend both the soup and the burger. Delizioso!
I left nothing on my plate — absolutely nothing. If you are craving a great lunch downtown, check out Domaine South at 200 West Side Square in Huntsville. Your taste buds (and your dinner date) will thank you!
