The Sage Lounge

I just attended a Girls’ Night In Galentine’s event at The Sage Lounge, which is an amazing space to host your next event. The Sage Lounge is beautiful, spacious, and can accommodate your guests at your next birthday celebration, corporate meeting, or intimate gathering. I missed Soul Santa at The Sage Lounge in December, but I’ll be sure to visit Santa this year.

The Sage Lounge hosts retreats, vendor pop ups to promote local businesses, and more. I have seen this space transformed several times before, but tonight, it was the perfect place to unwind after a long, hard week. It was an evening of celebrating women. This event is best described by the owners, Shana Freeman and Jamelia Anderson, as “Community Over Competition,” and I am here for it because we can all win together.

Immediately upon walking into the space, Jamelia stated, “Shayla, these are for you!” They purchased Poppi sparkling soda for me and the other ladies who don’t drink alcohol. Shana and Jamelia, thanks for looking out for your girl! I think I need to purchase these Poppi Sparkling Sodas for my home. I love these drinks! They also served a delicious strawberry lemonade that I enjoyed.

So, if you don’t drink, that’s okay. Jamelia and Shana have you covered! 😉

The decor mimicked an adult slumber party. We wore our Valentine-themed pajamas for the event, and it was so much fun!

We began the evening by decorating a heart-shaped cake, which I really enjoyed. I didn’t know I could decorate a cake.

I was so proud of my little cake, and it was delicious! The cake was strawberry with buttercream frosting.

We also ate a wonderful meal. I did not get a picture of the food, but they served shrimp and grits and red beans and rice that tasted like they were made with love in a Louisiana kitchen. I savored the soulfulness of each bite. There was caviar and plenty of desserts. I have to find out who the chef was for the event. She was wonderful! When I tell you I met some talented women Friday night…I cannot stress that enough. These women were extremely talented.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a true Sage Lounge event without supporting local small business owners. This is what I love about the owners, Shana and Jamelia. Their events showcase the talent and businesses in our local community. I have not been to an event at The Sage Lounge where they did not promote local business owners. Those in attendance were given samples of Ashley Marie natural hair products. Check out Ashley Marie here on Instagram.

I also met Harper Leigh of GLB+Co. Harper is an absolute doll. I sat with her during the event, and I really enjoyed our conversation. I love meeting young women who step out and make things happen. She curates some wonderful frangrances that are hypoallergenic. My top fragrances were Night and Belle. She often features Scents Socials at The Sage Lounge, which allows guests to create their own fragrances.

Harper has an amazing collection of fragrances. Check out her website here for more amazing products.

Jamelia couldn’t believe I left my house to attend the event, but I am truly happy I spent time with the beautiful women who were there.

Before I left, I made a bouquet. One of the women at the event came over and assisted me with my bouquet. I was bummed that I didn’t ask her for her name. She was such a sweetheart.

The bouquet was such a sweet and thoughtful idea. Ladies, it’s okay to give yourselves beautiful flowers. I brought mine home and put them in a vase. My buds bloomed, and the bouquet is still beautiful three days later.

My bouquet found its way onto my kitchen island, and this is day three.

Jamelia and Shana, thank you for an amazing Girls’ Night In! I will definitely visit again soon. Check out The Sage Lounge here on Instagram for upcoming events and information. You’ll always have a fabulous time at The Sage Lounge!
