I wanted to find a new restaurant to have a nice evening dinner with Matt. Some friends told me about One Eleven, so Matt and I visited. It is a chic new restaurant opening its doors in June. One Eleven is located at 111 Washington St. NE. This restaurant has a become a favorite for locals and is definitely a restaurant you need to add to your list.
One Eleven is home to a historic 7,000-square-foot space that once housed Huntsville’s Heritage Club and the Ritz Cafe. If you’re looking to host a private event, the restaurant offers two meeting rooms — The Library and The Heritage Room. The restaurant has an industrical, yet elegant feel.

My pictures of the interior don’t really do this space justice because there were quite a few people in the bar area of the restaurant, and I could not take pictures of some of the most beautiful spaces in the restaurant. They also have a private dining area if you want to have a small event with up to 14 friends.

They have quite a few items on the menu from the grill, salads, pastas, fresh fish, etc. They also have a lot of desserts. Not only do they have the four (4) desserts listed on the menu, but if you go online, you will find eleven (11) different desserts on their menu. I think they expanded the menu since ths post.

I chose a mocktail, but I cannot recall what it was called. Sorry guys! All I remember is that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I ordered the angry prawns with spicy chili oil, toasted garlic, okra sucotash, and orange zest. This was a great dish. I enjoyed the robust flavors in every bite. The prawns were large, and this had a subtle kick. I’m a fan of okra, and this okra was seasoned and cooked just right. I enjoyed this dish!

Matt enjoyed his dish also. He ordered the pork chop with gorgonzola, smoked ham hock collard greens, rhubarb marmalade, and demi-glace.

I also ordered the bread pudding.

The flavors were extremely good, but the texture wasn’t the soft bread pudding I am used to. However, it was delicious as well. I think I will give it another try when I return. This restaurant was a great spot to have a nice date night with Matt. It was refreshing to see a great upscale restaurant opening in Huntsville, and I plan to return. Check them out if you are ever in town, and if you need more details on this gem, check out One Eleven’s website here.
