Welcome to my blog! Here I am with my first post. I decided I would challenge myself to begin with what is already in my closet. I cannot buy new outfits, shoes, etc. I have to work with what I already own. I began by giving several pairs of shoes, handbags, jeans and other clothing to Goodwill, which means I am limited in my choices. Interestingly enough, I found a lot of clothes that I just don’t wear, and I know there are many of you out there with the tags still on your clothes, yet we continue to buy more. Well, why don’t you take this challenge with me. Let’s see what we can come up with in our closets. Whew, this is really going to be a challenge for me!
I have a friend who purchased her wedding dress several sizes too small, which gave her the motivation to lose weight before her wedding. I, on the other hand, purchased this dress in 2007 while on a trip to California. I purchased an extra small, but the dress still fit loosely and I knew I had some growing to do. However, you know how we get when we see something we just can’t resist. We tell ourselves we can wear it in a few months. Well, four years later, I still have a few more inches to go. I could not resist putting it on. I feel so girlie in this dress and I can’t help but spin around uncontrollably whenever I wear it. Let’s get creative and see what we can come up with over the next few weeks. I look forward to seeing you soon! 😉
Wow, this is a great site! I can’t wait to read more whenever there are posts. Love the common sense and great fashion challenge, using what you have! I’m waiting for more from Shayla Jay!
I love the flirty dress. I can’t believe you purchased it four years ago! It looks great!
I love The Challenge. You are so right–we could all benefit by taking a look in our own closets and finding fun ways to reinvent our favorite pieces (and some that we’ve never worn)! Next time, before I run out to the store, I’ll take an assessment of what I already have to find items that enhance my existing wardrobe. Thanks for the great idea Shayla Jay! I look forward to reading more on your blog!
