Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

This weekend was so awesome that I had to blog about it.  I spoke during a women’s encounter on “The Cross,” and you will never know the joy that is in my heart from seeing so many women walk away from this weekend knowing their worth and walking in the authority that has been given to them by God.  You cannot be fashionable and confident if you don’t know your worth.  It doesn’t matter what you wear if you are hurting inside and doubt the talents God has placed inside of you.  You are beautiful, smart, awesome, and classy but not because others say you are.  You are all these things because God says you are.  If God created you and prepared your purpose before you were even born, why do you worry about how people see you?  People didn’t create you.  God did.  His Word says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalms 139:17).  It’s amazing that we can’t believe what our Creator says about us, but we can believe, “You’re too fat, too skinny, too tall, too short, you’ll never be anything, you’re stupid, you’re ugly” and on and on and on.

As women, we often measure our worth by looking at others, but God wants us to measure our worth based on His Word.  He wants us to see ourselves as He sees us  — powerful, mighty women who can do all things through Him. (Philippians 4:13)

So many people have  told me they were a failure, they didn’t know why they were born, and that they had no purpose.  God doesn’t create failures; you’re a winner.  God’s Word says, “He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.” (Philippians 1:6)   You’re not a disappointment; you have a purpose.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”   I know you’ve read these scriptures before, but when will you start believing them?  Will you continue to walk in defeat or will you walk in the authority God has given you? You are God’s child, which means you have an inheritance in Him.  That inheritance is the grace, knowledge, peace and joy that only He can give.  This weekend, my friend Tonya said it best — if you are a child of God, “Even when you [appear to] lose… you win!”

Let’s be the women God has called us to be and truly believe that God is God!  Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made!  You are royalty, so act like it!  As long as you stay in the race, you can win it.  Know your worth and walk in it!  Whenever you begin to doubt who you are and whether God loves you, remember the ultimate act of love that he showed when he went to the cross for you.  He didn’t have to do it, but He did.  God bless you and I’m praying for your strength!

I really wanted to write this because there are so many women who have no idea who they are. That is the plot that keeps so many women from reaching their full potential in Christ. The cycle must stop, and sadly I can’t reach every single hurting woman out there, but God knows I will continue trying.
